Our Story

Brett and Haley met at a lively college bar in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. It was love at first sight! Haley introduced herself, and Brett’s buddy (now a groomsman) happily gave up his seat for her. After a bit of banter, Brett asked Haley on a proper first date. The rest, as they say, is history. Brett pulled out all the stops to woo Haley on their first date, even borrowing his dad’s BMW to pick her up. They quickly felt the ease and comfort of talking to a best friend and introduced each other to their families, who welcomed them with open arms. Haley cherishes her first Christmas at the Patton house, while Brett treasures their first trip to Montana together. Whitefish, MT became their special place, where Brett later proposed overlooking Big Mountain. Their relationship grew stronger during the pandemic. They passed the time by taking scenic drives to watch rocket launches and playing endless board games. Their competitive spirit led to them joining co-ed kickball and beach volleyball leagues. Haley and Brett have supported one another through career changes, traveled abroad together, and earned a reputation as the best-dressed couple at many themed gatherings. It’s only fitting that these two UC Santa Barbara Gauchos will be married overlooking the Pacific. After seven years of adventures, Brett and Haley look forward to their next chapter, where they hope to grow their family and grow old together. They are deeply grateful for their family and friends and can't wait to celebrate with you by their side. Cheers to living happily ever after!

Glimpses of Us

Blair was one of the first friends Haley made after her cross-country move to California. They became inseparable freshman year at Chaminade College Prep.  Blair is like a sister to Haley.

Nick and Brett became a dynamic duo at UCSB where they met playing Division I golf. They've since gone on to dominate the Grass League. The boys bring out the best in one another.

April and Haley met through Alpha Chi Omega. Brett and Haley were inspired to adopt their cat, Auggie, following April's CATchelorette Party.

Lane and Brett were also teammates in college and continue competing together. Brett and Haley love spending time Lane and Kayleigh.

Megan and Haley met in college and grew close while living in Santa Barbara after graduation. They share a love of travel and are always up for a side quest to find the best coffee in town!

Grant and Brett met at Dos Pueblos High School and the Amersons have become like a second family to Brett over the years. There is a tie for who Brett texts more - Grant or Haley!

Natasha and Haley were college roommates and were in AXO together. They look forward to annual ski trips and love organizing game nights with Ghirardelli brownies!

Bobby is Haley’s older brother and role model. Haley is the godmother of Bobby’s eldest, Charlotte, who will also be their flower girl. Brett is excited to officially become an uncle!

Haley and Brett walked down the aisle together at Cara and Jason's wedding and are excited for this full circle moment! Cara and Haley serve on the boards for the Association of Environmental Professionals and Junior League together.

Jason and Brett became close friends after many double-dates. The girls appreciate a cozy date-night in while the boys do the grilling! Jason and Brett are known for their creative costumes at the Monster Golf Tournament each October.

Jackie and Haley became fast friends through the Junior League. They share an appreciation for live music, Taylor Swift, and enjoy line dancing together.

These brothers enjoy working on cars and even wrapped Brett's E36! When they're not in the garage, you can find Tyler and Brett e-biking through the Funk Zone.

Taylor was also a member of the golf team and is a frequent houseguest whenever he visits Santa Barbara. Taylor always kicks-off dinner by asking everyone to share the best part of their day, a tradition that Haley and Brett have adopted.  They also enjoy visiting Anna and Taylor at their ranch, where they go skeet shooting and enjoy farm-to-table meals together.

Our&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;venue&nbsp;doubles&nbsp;as&nbsp;an&nbsp;oceanside&nbsp;hotel!&nbsp;The&nbsp;hotel&nbsp;features&nbsp;two&nbsp;buildings:&nbsp;our&nbsp;room&nbsp;block&nbsp;is&nbsp;located&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;fourth&nbsp;floor&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;fully&nbsp;renovated&nbsp;Pines&nbsp;building&nbsp;which&nbsp;looks&nbsp;out&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;seal&nbsp;rookery,&nbsp;and&nbsp;our&nbsp;venue&nbsp;is&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;rooftop&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;main&nbsp;Shores&nbsp;Building.&nbsp;

Things to Do

For those traveling by plane, our venue is conveniently located 14 miles from San Diego International Airport (SAN). Both our wedding ceremony and reception will take place at 1155 Coast Blvd, La Jolla. Stay at one of our local hotel blocks (see the Accommodations tab).

Our special day is a black-tie affair, so dress to impress! Gentlemen are kindly asked to wear a tuxedo or a dark-colored suit and tie. Ladies are encouraged to wear a long dress in cheerful summer colors or florals. Our venue is heel-friendly.
